Zhe Ye Qing Bamboo Leaf Tea - Sedona Arizona's Full-Leaf Tea Store
An OFF-TRAIL rare, low-production, specialty tea. Zhu Ye Qing is 100% GREEN TEA from the E Mei Shan area of the Sichuan Province of China, where the climate, terroir, large area for growing tea is perfect. This is a handmade, nonpareil grade famously known as Green Bamboo Leaf. The tea is reminiscent of bamboo due to flatish bright green tea leaves floating straight up in the water, like soldiers in formation, while brewing. Picked in early April when the first leaf is just beginning to open from the bud, resulting in high quality. Flattish bamboo shaped, bright green buds that produce a green luster liquor with a vegetal taste, hints of peas, asparagus, melon, cucumber, very slight sugarcane & the expected refreshing forest fragrance. There’s a noticeable lack of bitterness.
