2016 Guchashan (DaDuGang) Ripe Puer - from Trailhead Tea, Sedona, Arizona

2016 spring harvested from the DaDuGang area of Yunnan Province, and then pressed and stored at the DaDuGang factory, where we toured in October 2016. DaDuGang is a large sized quality producer, possibly the largest puer tea garden in China. We spent time learning with the company manager. We sampled this tea in their tasting room before acquiring.
The taste of the tea is very smooth for its age, somewhat rich. The aroma is dark earthy and woodsy, with a good mouthfeel.
MODERATELY TO HIGHLY CAFFEINATED (approx 30-50% of the caffeine as coffee)

Package size is 2 ounces of compressed and loose full leaf tea, which yields approximately 25 first cups. Tasting sample is 1 ounce for about 12 first cups.
BREWING: One broken piece the approx volume of a teaspoon (tenth of an ounce or 3 grams) for every 8 oz of boiling 200-212°F fresh water. Steep for 1-2 minutes or to desired taste. Can re-infuse up to 10 times by adding 15-30 seconds to each additional infusion.
